Monographic: Phosphoric Acid 85% and 75%
Phosphoric acid appears as a crystalline substance at room temperature, but is generally stored and distributed in 85% or 75% solution.
Its formula is H3P04 and in solution it looks like a viscous and colorless liquid. It is also known as orthophosphoric acid.
It is miscible in water and alcohol and has a wide range of applications due to its resistance to oxidation, reduction and evaporation.

- In human nutrition we find it as an ingredient in non-alcoholic beverages, in the preparation of yeasts and as a flavoring agent in jams and cheeses.
- In the metal treatment, it serves as a catalyst in stainless metals and as an oxide and dust remover on metal surfaces.
- Finally, it is also used as a glue in dental prostheses and in phosphates that are used as water softeners.
Stands out its use in the formulation of detergents, soaps and fertilizers.
