In the food industry, it is used as solvent for coloring food and as a wetting additive (in this case, it's labeled as E1520). Moreover, it's applied as a flavoring agent and antifreeze. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as raw material in cosmetics and personal care products such as shampoos and deodorants. Finally, it is also presented as an excellent solvent for inks high speed, approved for indirect food contact.
