The first pressed castor oil is obtained from the castor fruit seed, which has a 40-50% of content oil. The first pressed castor oil comes in the form of a yellowish liquid with characteristic odor and high viscosity. Its main physical parameters are:

  • Flash point: 229 ° C

  • Vapor pressure: at 20 °C > 1 mbar
  • Ignition temperature: 448ºC


The first pressed castor oil is considered an exclusive oil because it is the only one containing the ricinoleic fatty acid, characterized by the presence of an OH group (more than 80%).


At the industrial level, the first pressed castor oil is used in the industry of plastics, rubbers, elastomers and resins, providing great flexibility.


In addition, given its moisturizing and moisturizing properties, it is widely used in the cosmetic sector.
